New York Part IV ~ FAO Schwartz & Central Park

Happy New Year, everyone! It's been a little while but I'm slowly going through all of the photographs to update you all on what I've been up to! Our next day in New York was quite laid back, however it was unbelievably cold. We headed over to 5th Avenue and admired the wonderful window displays. They were quite beautiful and creative.

We then headed over to FAO Schwarz to check out the Big Piano! This toy store was absolutely incredible. I didn't know where to explore first, it was beaming with colour and childhood toys.

We're all fans of the film, "BIG" so it was really cool seeing this in person :)

As we were walking away, we saw Steve Waugh and his family! For all of you non-Australians he was the captain of the Australian Cricket Team for quite some time. Quite the icon so that was really cool! Dad wanted to go over and say hi but Mum told him not to while they were enjoying their holiday in peace, for once. Let's just say that Dad is still talking about not meeting Steve.

It was then time for something to eat so we did the typical New York thing and bought some hot dogs from a hot dog stand...just like in the movies!

Still struggling in the cold, we made our way into Central Park. I can't even begin to describe how beautiful it looked on this cold and foggy day. It is really an incredibly beautiful place that I will never ever get sick of visiting.

Sorry, couldn't help it hehe.

I was SO excited to see this! Being a fan of the film, Serendipity, it was a must see.

We continued walking and these wonderful horses trotted nearby.

These two had the most beautiful opera voices. They attracted quite the crowd.

It was beginning to get really, really cold so it was time for some lunch. What better place to have lunch than the boathouse?

After lunch, we wandered off to a quieter area of the park. It turned out to be even more beautiful than the previous areas we had explored.

 It was then that we found Belvedere Castle and took some photos of the beautiful view.

Best looking toilets I've ever seen.

It was then time to go back to the hotel because we were frozen. On the way back we stopped by a park near our hotel and took some last minute photos before dark.

Fire engine alarms echoed the streets as they approached the location of a small fire.
