Spending the day with Ash & leaving San Francisco

Christian and I met up with Ashley Hershberger at around 1 p.m. in the lobby of our hotel. We had planned on just exploring San Francisco and taking photographs, as photographers do, hehe. First of all we wandered around for a little while looking for a nice place to eat. We passed a few strange people holding weird signs, shouting random things.

I had asked Ash to take us to The Pink Ladies not just because I had seen them used in a million different movies, but because they were absolutely beautiful and I thought they'd be an ideal location for photographs. I remember seeing them last time I visited San Francisco, but we didn't get to spend much time in the park across the road. It took us a while to get there because we decided to walk. Ash ended up taking us through all the different streets in San Francisco ~ the very dodgy ones, the nice ones and then the steep ones...oh wait, that last descriptor applies to all of the streets. Anyway, we finally arrived and we took a million photos! :)

Ash was a little reluctant to model, but she did a fantastic job! I think I'll be uploading a few more portraits from this day on my flickr and facebook very soon. Christian ended up helping her out with different poses, but she was totally natural in front of the camera anyway.

If you haven't read my previous posts, I've recently become obsessed with free lensing, so I experimented with it some more throughout the day.

If you don't follow Ash's work already, you're probably aware of the fact that she hasn't posted in a while. It was Christian and my mission to make sure that she took some new photographs. She's already an amazing photographer and ended up taking some amazing shots of both Christian and I.

I thought I'd take some simple shots while this was all happening.

After The Painted Ladies, we wandered San Francisco's streets. I absolutely love the houses in this city, they're absolutely gorgeous and super adorable! I couldn't help but take some photos of them all.

Ash modelled a concept for me and Christian and her wanted me to take a stupid picture of them both.

We passed this incredible house that had gone all out for Christmas! We were all very, VERY impressed!

The streets looked wonderful as we were losing the daylight, so we all continued to take photos of each other. The tones were too good to pass up!

This is my "Oh em gee, that's Ash Hershberger" face.

We continued to walk around and made a habit of running out onto the road to take pictures of the beautiful view. Ash and myself modelled for each other and Christian. It was quite a rush and I ended up getting an awesome shot! At one point, this car with flags passed us and Ash and I immediately thought of Princess Diaries!

Final shot:

We all headed back to the city to meet up with my parents. The steam looked really cool, so Ash and I got Christian to model for us. At one point a guy came up to us and asked us various things about editing an album cover for him. Christian and I referred him to our good friend Ash, hehe. Who knows if Ash will ever actually email him, haha.

Ash's outfit went well with the tones :)

We met up with Mum and Dad and took a few group shots. We continued to hang out in Macy's before it was time to say goodbye to Ash. I had such a fantastic day with her and I can't tell you how amazing she is in person. I already miss her so much and I can't wait to hang out with her again in Disney world in January (hopefully). Keep an eye out for all of our photos from that day!!

Two photos from Mum & Dad's adventures that day:

I also wanted to add in a few photographs from our next day in San Francisco. It actually was quite short as we were flying to Boston! It was quite hectic changing flights in Detroit so I only got a few shots from the day. I may add some more another time, but for now, these are what I have! My next post will be on Boston! Very excited about that.
