New York Part II ~ 30 Rock, Meeting Gina & Sarah & NBA

Well, it's been a while! Sorry about that, I was in the Carribbean :P Let's return to New York for just a few more posts. So, we were off to 30 Rock today, which I was totally excited for because I'm a big fan of 30 Rock, hehe. So our day started out like this, like it usually does:

We then took the subway as usual and climbed all the way up 30 Rockefeller Plaza....I'm just kidding we took the elevator. These were some of the photographs I took while on top of the world, ha. Seriously, New York is so beautiful and will forever remain one of my favourite cities in the world.

We then all had some lunch near the ice skating rink inside and Mum and I split up from Dad and Christian and went shopping, yay! I ended up purchasing a beautiful purple scarf and a blue dress, which you'll see in later posts! Then, the day kind of skips to night where something really amazing happened. I met my two best friends from flickr. Now, I've met many amazing people on this trip so far, but these two girls, well they're quite special. Earlier on this year, I discovered Miss Gina's work, which is incredible and can be seen here. She liked my stream too and we began talking. Talking then turned into video chatting and that's where I met Miss Sarah whose work is also amazing and can be seen here. We all video chatted quite regularly and spoke on Facebook every day ever since. Nothing can prepare you for special moments like this.

Christian and I took the elevator down from our room to the lobby, where Gina was anxiously waiting. I was a bundle of emotions, happy, excited, anxious, nervous, everything! As soon as the doors opened, I saw Gina and just basically tackled her, haha. We hugged for ages. Christian, her and I then went around to the cafe area in our hotel and just talked and waited for Sarah to arrive. While we were having a dandy old time, Sarah was trekking her way across the city just to come and see us before we had to leave to go to an NBA game! We all felt so bad, but receiving constant updates on the obstacles she was facing were kinda amusing, hehe.

Sarah was taking a little longer than expected so we decided to head up the street and take a few photos. Gina ended up using on for her 365 Project :)

That shoe size difference, hehe.

Sarah texted and said she was nearby, so we went back and waited for her in the lobby.

YAAAYY!! She made it, bahaha. Ahh, I can't tell you how amazing it was to have all of us there, in the same city, in the same place, at the same time. I love these girls to bits and just couldn't wait for our New York adventures to begin.

Our family was off to our first NBA game, so we had to say goodbye. We were going to be seeing more of each other later on in the week. So, my family and I made our way over to Brooklyn, where we watched what turned out to be an incredible basketball game! We had the full on American experience by eating overpriced, unhealthy food while watching too.

What made it even more incredible was Jerry Seinfeld being there watching from the front row! Dad, Christian and I kind of idolise Jerry a lot so it just was the cherry on top of the cake. Awesome day.

  2. Did you guys ever visit Tom's Restaurant? The one seen in Seinfeld? I visited it when I went to NY- it's located in Columbia-U! The outside is exactly the same as the one in the show, but the inside is obviously different. :)

    1. I actually did go and eat there the last time I visited New York, being a big big Seinfeld fan! It was a must see and ah, I just love that place! I knew the interior was a set, but I still was a little disappointed when I walked in, haha. As we all do when we see things in shows and compare them to their reality appearance!
